Up To My Eyes

The last few weeks have been quite busy, so I haven’t gotten around to posting anything here.

The traditional tonne of 3rd year assignments to be submitted this week before the term ends are the main reason why I’m so busy at the moment, sometimes resulting in 20 hour days (consisting of commuting, lectures, assignments and other work and the occasional US TV episode or two). I can’t wait for this week to end so I can crash and recover before I go Christmas shopping with Ciara in Edinburgh next week…

Finally gave up on Eircom and their crappy DSL service. Within the next week or two, I should be up and running with Irish Broadband, complete with a /26 subnet, mainly because I’m fed up of having to tweak internal and external DNS so they are effectively the same thing, not to mention that dirty hack – NAT – which I despise so much…

With little or no prompting on my part, a home cinema plan has started to form at home, consisting of a Widescreen TV, Multi Region DVD Player (which will also conveniently play DivX and XviD), Sky + and an existing Dolby 5.1 subwoofer set. Should be interesting to play with at Chsitmas, when it should be assembled. 🙂
