That’s Odd…
I’ve hit a really wierd networking problem. My iMac (as I’m considering it
, which is primarily for web design of a site I’m now working on, can’t be seen on the Trinity network. If I go to it physically, it can see the network and send pings to and from it, but remotely, I can’t ping it at all. It’s rather odd. It shouldn’t be set to power-save and shut itself down partially and I’ve made sure the OS X firewall will allow remote access to it. *scratches head* It better not be a case of some idiot removing the networking cable from the wall…
Awww! I was considering buying one of these from Japan or somewhere else in the Far East. According to reports, there won’t be any Palm drivers until January. I’ll see how it goes. It would be really cool to have…
In other news (if you can call it news), I’ve disabled the barring of comments from certain Netsoc IPs. It was a measure to stop the gruesome twosome and certain would-be accomplices from posting annoying, drunken comments a few months ago. Seems it’s stopping all Trinity web proxies, so Nithin can’t barrage me here.
It wasn’t the IP banning bit Mackers.\n\n\nObviously finding a link with text that doesn’t include the word “comment” is far too technical for you…
who’s my partner in crime? i haven’t been nearly pissed enough to want to post to your blog for months now (no offence). but i’m with mackers…it looks like everyone got banned. don’t ban because of me. i’ll be good.
Ok, let’s pretend that Indigo, Esat Leased Line, SBC DSL and Universität Tübingen share matrix’s IP address.\n\nAnd no giggling down the back.
careful now!
*well actually* it was blocking comments here too. and this is a 134.2 address so you were probably blocking the whole class a. i thought you’d given up on the whole comments thing. woohoo…let the drunken posting begin. down with that sort of thing.
I was only blocking 134.226.83.(16|50).\n\nI’ll do it again, especially since you’re 1/2 of the gruesome twosome Robb!
And both of you, use proper email addresses, it’s only for the From: header when I get an email copy of every comment. The random addresses, particularly Mackers’ one get flagged as spam before they get filtered…
Abuse.\n\nConall, you banned the whole Interweb. You probably did a 134.226.0.0/32 or something equivalently silly.
No Mackers, I didn’t. I specified only those 2 IPs, without netmasks.\n\n\nI did have to re-giggle the index page though, so thecomments link wasn’t there, but the archived entries still do comments…
